Alfagrog is a porous foamed and hardened ceramic material, which is lightweight, strong and inert.
Its high surface area makes it the natural choice for colonisation by microorganisms in biological filtration systems resulting in cleaner water.
To manufacture Alfagrog, various clays and raw materials are rapidly fused at high temperature to produce a foamed ceramic porous mass, which is crushed and sectioned to convenient particle size.
It is manufactured using materials that are safe for use around all livestock and plants.
Alfagrog provides optimum media surface area, suitable for all varying flow rates. It is pH neutral and suitable for freshwater and marine setups.
Anaerobic media, like Alfagrog, is great for helping to reduce nitrates and keep the water clear. Alfagrog chunks vary in size and are typically 40-60mm in width per piece. 15000g = approx 450-500 pieces.
Rinse before use.
